In short

Compliance AI prepares VAT, withholding tax and zakat workings from the ledger for your review, checks each company's readiness for ZATCA e-invoicing, reminds you before every filing is due and gets your auditors what they ask for. Filing and the audit itself stay with you and your advisers.

What does Compliance AI do?

Compliance AI does the preparation behind tax filings and audits, from the same ledger as your reports, so the figures in a return agree with the books. It does not file returns and it does not audit you: it gets the work ready for the people who do.

The readiness checks look at the invoices Naarvin holds for the last twelve months: whether the seller's VAT number and commercial registration are on file, whether buyers' VAT numbers are present, whether numbering is unique and has no gaps, whether every line carries VAT, and whether the lines add up to the invoice. They show where your data falls short. Our guide to ZATCA e-invoicing explains the requirements themselves.

How does a month run with Compliance AI?

Compliance work follows the filing calendar and the close. A typical month looks like this.

  1. The calendar is setEach company's filings and their due dates come from its country, its VAT registration and its tax profile, plus any obligation your team adds.
  2. Reminders go outEach person gets a daily digest of filings that are overdue or due soon, together with auditor requests and close tasks waiting on them, by email, Telegram or WhatsApp, as they choose. The messages carry no amounts.
  3. The month closesThe VAT and withholding tax workings are prepared from the closed ledger. Only VAT accounts count towards VAT; zakat, withholding and income tax accounts are kept apart.
  4. Your team reviewsA reviewer checks the working against the books and the source documents, and asks for corrections where a transaction was coded wrongly.
  5. The return is filed by youYour team or adviser files with the authority. Once the return is recorded as filed, the obligation is done, and the tax payment from a saved return takes its place in the 13-week cash forecast.
  6. At year end, zakat and the auditThe zakat worksheet is prepared from the year's balance sheet and result. Lead schedules, journal tests and samples are ready before your auditors arrive.

How does Compliance AI support the audit?

It prepares the working papers an auditor opens first, and gives your auditors one place to find what they asked for.

  • Lead schedules group the trial balance by financial statement line, this period against the comparative, and flag any line that moved by more than the materiality amount and threshold you set.
  • Journal testing runs over every posted entry in the period, not a sample: entries that do not balance, revenue booked by hand, round amounts, weekend postings, large month-end entries and likely duplicates. Each exception opens in the ledger.
  • Audit samples are reproducible: the same population and seed always give the same sample, by monetary unit, at random or by key items.
  • Working papers keep the proposed audit adjustments, the summary of unadjusted misstatements, and the explanations and tickmarks on each lead schedule. An agreed adjustment shows in an adjusted column until it is booked in the ERP.
  • Your external auditors can be given their own access, limited in time and to the companies they audit. They see their requests, the files provided and the reports they need, and change nothing in the books.

Who is Compliance AI for?

Compliance AI is for the people who own tax and the audit: tax managers, financial controllers and CFOs, and the accountants who prepare the workings. It is useful for a single company, and more so for a group with companies in several countries, each with its own filings and dates. A group CFO sees in one calendar which filings are due across the companies they cover, and which are late.

What stays with your team?

Every filing and every tax position stays with you and your advisers. Naarvin supports your compliance; it does not replace your tax adviser or your auditor.

  • Reviewing each working and filing each return with the authority.
  • Decisions on how a transaction is treated for tax.
  • The adjustments in the zakat worksheet, and the final base.
  • Answering your auditors, and agreeing any audit adjustment. An agreed adjustment reaches the books only through the usual approved journal.

Tax research answers only from a curated set of sources. Each answer must cite at least one source, and every number in it must appear in a cited source; otherwise the sources are shown on their own. It is research, not advice, and the page says so.

Which systems does Compliance AI work with?

Compliance AI works from each company's ledger and invoices, read from ERPs such as ERPNext, Odoo, Zoho Books, Qoyod, Wafeq or Oracle NetSuite, or from Excel and CSV files. Reminders reach people by email, Telegram or WhatsApp, once your organization connects its own bot or WhatsApp Business sender. ERPNext and file imports run with customers today; every other connector is built and is checked in a first sync with your own company before you rely on it.

Questions people ask

Does Naarvin file our VAT or zakat return?

No. Compliance AI prepares the workings from the ledger for your review and tracks the deadline. Filing stays with you and your advisers.

Does the readiness check make us compliant with ZATCA e-invoicing?

No. It shows where each company's invoice data falls short, such as missing VAT numbers or gaps in numbering, so you can fix it. Compliance with the rules depends on your invoicing and on the authority's requirements.

Where do the tax research answers come from?

From a curated set of sources, to which your organization can add its own. An answer must cite its sources and every number in it must appear in one of them; otherwise only the sources are shown.

Can our auditors work in Naarvin directly?

Yes. Auditors can be given their own access, limited in time and to the companies they audit, where they see their requests, the support files and reports such as the trial balance, ledger, samples, journal tests and lead schedules. They change nothing in the books.

Which countries do the VAT workings cover?

VAT returns follow the country's form for Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain, the authority's categories for Oman and Egypt, and a plain VAT summary elsewhere. Always check a working against the authority's current form before you file.
