How are several companies consolidated?
Each company's books are translated into the group's reporting currency at the right rates, intercompany balances and transactions are eliminated, and non-controlling interests are shown where the group does not own all of a company. Can every number be traced?
Yes. Any figure in a report opens to its breakdown by company, account and month, and down to the journal lines. When a number moves, the agents explain why, naming the company, project or supplier behind the change.
Who signs a report off?
A person. Reports are built from the latest synced books and a month is marked final only when the close checks pass. Commentary and board packs stay drafts until an authorised person approves them.
