Naarvin shows cash across your bank accounts from the ledger and the latest bank statements, for every company and currency, and projects the next 13 weeks from what customers owe and what you owe suppliers. Accounts that fall below a minimum balance you set are flagged ahead of time. A person approves every payment; Naarvin never moves money.
Why is cash so hard to see in a group?
Cash sits in many places. A group with a few companies can easily have a dozen bank accounts across several banks and currencies. Every morning someone logs into each bank, copies the balance into a spreadsheet, and sends it round. By midday it is out of date, and it says nothing about next week.
- Balances are collected by hand from each bank portal.
- The ledger and the bank disagree, and nobody knows which one is right today.
- Some cash is held as security for a bank facility or set aside for a project, and is counted as free.
- The forecast is a separate file, rebuilt each week from aging reports.
- Loan repayments and covenant tests arrive as surprises.
How does cash management run with Naarvin?
- Bring in statementsStatement files from each bank are uploaded or delivered to a folder. They are matched to the books, so the ledger and the bank agree.
- See the positionCash by bank, company and currency, converted to your reporting currency, with restricted accounts shown separately.
- Set the guard railsGive an account a minimum balance. When the outlook shows it dipping below, it is flagged before it happens.
- Look ahead 13 weeksThe cash forecast projects what comes in and goes out, from customer invoices, supplier bills, payroll and loan schedules.
- Test scenariosSave scenarios, such as a large customer paying late, and compare them with the base case.
- Pay with approvalPayables are proposed and payment files are prepared for a person to approve and upload to the bank.

How do collections and payables feed the forecast?
The forecast is only as good as its dates. A customer invoice is placed on a date someone set for it, a promise to pay, the customer's payment plan, or the due date moved by how late that customer has paid on average. Supplier bills go out at their due dates. When collections improve or a payment run moves, the forecast moves with it. That is why the forecast lives next to receivables and payables, not in a separate file.
What do you need to start?
- Your accounting system connected, so invoices, bills and the ledger are current.
- Statement files for each bank account, from your banks' portals.
- A list of accounts that are restricted, and any minimum balances you want watched.
- Loan and facility terms, if you want repayments and covenants in the forecast.
Who is this for?
CFOs and treasury teams with several bank accounts, companies or currencies, and businesses where cash is tight enough that next month matters as much as today. A company with one bank account and steady cash may be well served by its bank portal alone.
Questions people ask
Does Naarvin connect directly to our banks?
Naarvin works from statement files: you upload them, or your bank delivers them to a folder Naarvin reads. Balances and lines are then matched to your books.
Can Naarvin make payments?
No. Naarvin never moves money. It prepares bank-ready payment files that a person approves and uploads to the bank.
How is restricted cash handled?
Mark an account as restricted and it is shown apart from free cash, so it is not counted as available.
Does the forecast cover several currencies?
Yes. Each account keeps its currency and the position and forecast are also shown in your reporting currency.
