Mapping decides where each of your accounts appears in Naarvin's financial statements. Go to Data & admin, then Mapping. Each account is Suggested, Confirmed or Unmapped, and every suggestion shows its reason. Confirm them all in one click or one by one, add rules that map future accounts by code, name, group or type, and split an account across lines by percentage when it belongs to more than one.
Why does mapping matter?
Every company has its own chart of accounts. Mapping places each account on one line of Naarvin's finance model, so companies on different systems produce the same statements and can be consolidated. Only confirmed accounts are included in the financial statements.
How do you confirm the mapping?
- Open MappingGo to Data & admin, then Mapping, and choose the company.
- Read the suggestionsEach suggestion shows why it was made, such as "Name contains Rent", "Under Operating expenses" or "Cost of sales in the source system", with how confident it is.
- ConfirmUse Confirm all suggested to confirm every suggestion at once, or confirm, change or leave each account unmapped one at a time. You can change any of them afterwards.
- Add rulesIn Auto-map rules, map accounts by code prefix, code range, name, ERP group or account type. Preview a rule before applying it.
- Split where neededIf one account belongs on more than one line, split it by percentage. The shares must add up to 100%.
What happens when a new account appears?
A new account arriving from your ERP or a file is suggested a line, or matched by a rule, and stays out of the statements until it is confirmed. Unmapped and suggested accounts are counted on the page, so nothing falls through unnoticed.
Can you change the account itself?
Yes. Data & admin, then Chart of accounts, lets you correct an account's name or type in Naarvin. Your change is kept when the ERP syncs again, your ERP itself is not changed, and a change that would restate a closed month warns you first.
Questions people ask
Does the AI decide the mapping?

Do we have to map every account before seeing reports?
Confirmed accounts appear straight away. Most teams confirm all suggestions first, then review the few that look wrong.
Who can change the mapping?
People with permission to manage mappings. Others can see the mapping but not change it.
