Naarvin reads the gross-to-net report of every closed Deel Global Payroll cycle into its payroll register: each employee's gross pay, deductions and net pay, by legal entity and month. It uses an organization token with read scopes, reads nothing until someone with payroll access switches the payroll register on, and never writes to Deel.
What does Naarvin read from Deel?
Deel Global Payroll runs payroll for your own legal entities in many countries. For each legal entity Deel runs payroll for, Naarvin reads the payroll cycles that ended in the months it covers, and each cycle's gross-to-net report, employee by employee.
| Payroll register field | From Deel |
|---|---|
| Employee code and name | The employee id and name on the report |
| Other allowances | The whole gross salary |
| Basic pay | Left empty: the report gives gross pay, not its parts |
| Deductions | Gross salary minus net salary |
| Net pay | The net salary |
| GOSI employee share | The social-security amount, for Saudi legal entities only |
Naarvin leaves basic pay empty rather than guess a split the report does not give. If you need basic pay per employee for a Deel-paid company, for example to work out end-of-service, import that company's payroll register as a file instead.
Which cycles and months are read?
The first sync reads cycles that ended in the last 12 months; later syncs read again from the month before the last sync. A cycle that is still open is not read, and the sync says how many were skipped: its month arrives once Deel closes it. Two cycles for one employee in the same month, such as an off-cycle run, are added together.
Each month the connection reads replaces only what this connection loaded before. A month imported from a payroll file, or loaded by another connection, is kept, and the sync warns with the month.
How do legal entities and currencies work?
Each Deel legal entity with Global Payroll becomes one company to link in Naarvin. Deel does not state a currency on the legal entity, so Naarvin takes the legal tender of the entity's country, SAR for a Saudi entity or AED for an Emirati one, and it must match the linked company's currency. Gross-to-net rows in any other currency are left out and counted in a warning. An entity in a country Naarvin has no currency for is not listed.
Who can switch payroll on, and who sees it?
A new Deel connection reads nothing. Someone who manages connections and may see payroll detail for every company of the connection switches the payroll register on from the connection card, and the change is audited. Afterwards only people with payroll detail access for a company see its lines, and warnings never name people.
What does the connection not do?
- It never writes to Deel.
- It does not read EOR workers or contractors: they are not on the Global Payroll gross-to-net report.
- It does not read department, joining or leaving dates, or bank accounts.
- It does not split gross pay into basic and allowances.
How do you connect Deel?
- Generate an organization token in DeelIn Deel, under More, Developer, Access Tokens, generate an organization token with the read scopes the Naarvin connect form lists: organizations, accounting and global payroll.
- Add the connectionPaste the token. It is encrypted when saved and never shown again.
- Link the legal entitiesNaarvin lists the legal entities Deel runs payroll for. Link each one to its company in Naarvin.
- Switch on the payroll registerFrom the connection card, by someone with payroll detail access for every linked company.
- Run the first sync and compare a cycleCompare one closed cycle's totals with Deel's gross-to-net report, and read the warnings on open cycles and currencies.
Questions people ask
Why is basic pay empty for Deel employees?
Deel's gross-to-net report gives gross pay, not its parts. Naarvin shows the whole gross as other allowances rather than invent a split.
Are contractors paid through Deel included?
No. Only employees on Global Payroll cycles are read. EOR workers and contractors are not on that report.
What happens to a cycle that is still open?
It is skipped, and the sync counts it. Its month is read once Deel closes the cycle.
