Naarvin reads SAP S/4HANA Cloud through its released APIs, signed in as a communication user you create. Each company code becomes a company in Naarvin with its G/L accounts, the leading ledger's line items, customers and suppliers, and their open and cleared items. The connection only reads, and because these APIs do not say which accounts are assets, liabilities or equity, the account mapping needs a careful first check.

Line items keep their transaction-currency amounts beside the company-code currency. Customer and supplier items feed receivables and payables aging in Treasury AI; a partly paid item shows as the residual item SAP creates.
How are SAP accounts typed in Naarvin?
These APIs do not tell Naarvin whether a balance-sheet account is an asset, a liability or equity, or whether a P&L account is revenue or expense. So Naarvin types cash accounts from the G/L account type, customer and supplier reconciliation accounts from the items posted to them, and every other account by the side of its balance on the first full read.
Those types are kept, so they do not change from one sync to the next, and the sync says how many accounts were typed by balance. Check the account mapping after the first sync, equity accounts above all, before anyone reports on it.
How do you connect SAP S/4HANA Cloud?

If a scenario is missing, the sync tells you which one to add instead of failing silently. Our team does these steps with you during onboarding.
How often does it sync?
On the schedule you set, from every 15 minutes to once a week, or on demand. The first sync reads the whole ledger; later syncs re-read from the first day of the month before the last sync, so documents reversed or deleted inside that window are marked deleted and back-dated postings are caught.
What does the SAP S/4HANA connection not do?
- It does not write to SAP. Approved journals are exported as a CSV file, one row per line, for your own upload, and recorded in Naarvin with the SAP document number.
- Down payment requests are left out: they are noted items that post nothing.
- Documents posting to G/L accounts outside the company code's chart are left out, and counted.
- It is built and is checked in a first sync with your own company codes before you rely on it.
Questions people ask
Why a communication user and password?
A communication user lets Naarvin read on a schedule without a person signing in each time. It is limited to the three read scenarios you assign, and its password is sealed in Naarvin and never shown again.
Can Naarvin read a ledger other than the leading ledger?
Yes. Enter its two-character code on the connection. Without one, Naarvin reads the leading ledger, 0L.
Will our account types be right?
Cash and reconciliation accounts are typed reliably. Other accounts are typed by the side of their balance on the first full read, so check the mapping once, especially equity. After that, the types stay fixed.
